Week of September 14th
September 14, 2026
The internet told me that Lanterns is good. I would say that I cautiously agree.
I’m not a Marvel person and up until two days ago I learned Lanterns is actually DC comics. So then I became not-a-DC person also.
But I like Aaron Pierre and I love Kelly Macdonald and I don’t know Kyle Chandler because I never watched Friday Night Lights, but I thought it was worth giving it a spin!
I don’t like the training bits, which, after only watching one episode, seems to be the majority. I am intrigued by the 2026 crime (intentionally vague for spoiler reasons). I’ll probably keep watching, but I still think the best superhero TV show is WandaVision.
Reacher is sooooo good this season (except for explanation-heavy ep7). I couldn’t tell you why I keep thinking about it, idly, over the course of the day. It’s probably because I’ve never seen this many roadblocks for Reacher and co., which provides a much-needed reverse to his typical impervious spell. It’s also probably because I hated s3.
I have never played Grand Theft Auto, but if I did, I’d say the fight scenes are like Grand Theft Auto. It’s great, in a plot way, to see Reacher get beat up more often. Although the knife twirling was kind of gimmicky. But I loved Lila’s combat outfit at the abandoned restaurant. The cropped oversized hoodie and boots it’s giving GI Joe x Bratz collab.
Again, devastated, I'm missing my friend’s wedding. It’s in my hometown as well which makes my feelings not only rooted in frustration and pain but nostalgia. Idk, there’s something buoyant about returning home to a wedding for someone you’ve known since middle school.
I finished Next of Kin. 2.5 stars/5. I think I knew this would be my rating early on. It was a read while nursing, an easy page turner and a telenovela on my Kindle.
